Professional Services Manager. I started my career at Present over 20 years ago as a C++ developer, developing point- of-sale solutions. Since then, I’ve been implicated in many, many projects of varying nature, touching notably the AS/400 technology. I was in charge of all “special missions”, anything that was considered complex. After having worked as project manager and a brief stint in solutions sales, I took over the management of our professional services, which I have been doing for that last 12 or so years. A perfectionist, my focus is to continuously improve our processes in order to deliver high quality services in the most efficient way. Other than IT, I studied in robotics and I’ve always had a passion for industrial automation, electronics as well as home automation.

A good IT recruiting firm’s main goal is to simplify and speed up its customers’ hiring process when filling a permanent or contractual position.

In addition, recruiters specialized in IT need to possess certain qualities. Although an excellent contact network is an essential asset for all recruiting firms, other more specific qualities and abilities set some firms apart from others. Here they are:

Computer security in SMBs: an often neglected daily challenge

Posted by Benoit Mercier_ on Nov 3, 2016 12:00:00 PM

We often associate a computer security breach with the theft or loss of information resulting from the intrusion of computer hackers. Indeed, these much talked about hackers are often the companies’ main worry. Is this fear justified? How do we prevent data theft or leakage?

Some famous cases

One need only think of the hacking that took place at Ashley Madison last year. Information on members was collected, then disseminated. We learned this year that some 500 million Yahoo! members had the same thing happen to them, not to mention the massive hacking at Sony in 2014. The American company had been threatened at the time by a hacker group that if it did not answer their demands, a lot of secret information and movies would be made public before their release date.

Even more recently, a couple of weeks ago, there was a major DDoS attack which prevented access to important websites such as Paypal, Twitter, Spotify, and even CBC.
